How it works & support
Select an HWP/HWPX document and convert. Body text, embedded PNG/JPEG photos and basic tables are transferred into Word in document order. Review photo/table counts, conversion differences and the illustrated preview before downloading.
What is retained
Ordinary text A → photo → text B remains in sequence, including images within a paragraph. Image bytes are embedded in the DOCX, not linked online. Basic table rows, columns, cell content and merges are supported. HWPX also transfers some bold, italic, underline, font size and color.
What may change
This is not a page-cloning engine. Floating pictures become inline pictures at their text anchors, so visible page order, coordinates, overlaps and multiple columns can change. Photos use their stated proportions and shrink to fit the page. Cropping, rotation, picture effects, original table styling, exact fonts, pagination, headers, footers and annotations are not reproduced. Omitted equations/shapes are reported in the result. Word line wrapping may differ from the preview.
When conversion fails
Unsupported image formats, missing/externally linked photos, unsupported grouped pictures and unreadable tables cause an error rather than a falsely successful file with missing pictures. HWP 3.x/97, encrypted, distribution-protected, DRM-protected and damaged files are unsupported. For essential original layout fidelity, export with Hancom software and compare.
Format-specific engines
HWP 5.x uses OLE/BodyText records and DocInfo picture references. HWPX uses ZIP/XML paragraphs, tables, picture references and embedded BinData. A local structured converter writes OOXML DOCX; it is not an official Hancom engine. LibreOffice’s default support alone is not treated as universal HWP 5.x/HWPX compatibility.
Limits: 10 MB input; 32 MB expanded data; 1,000 archive entries; 1,000 photos; 100×100 table cells. Modern Chrome/Edge with deflate-raw and createImageBitmap support is recommended. Documents are never uploaded to our server.
